As The World Turns’ head writer Hogan Sheffer reveals his storyline plans for Craig’s ex.
The In-Depth Story: With Mary Beth Evans now on contract, ATWT likely will commit to a love interest for Sierra.
“Mary Beth has always been a commodity that we brought on when we needed her.” Sheffer tells SID. “But because she had never been available to us in any constant kind of way, we avoided doing a romance. We brought her back with a husband, but obviously we were going to kill him from the start. He had expendable written all over him,” the scribe laughs.
While Sheffer won’t say who Sierra will be paired with, he is not mum about Evans.
“I don’t know what it is about her…her eyes, her superb acting, but she is to me, everything Sierra should be,” he shares. “I never saw Finn in the role except on some old tapes, but when Mary Beth came on, I was like …this woman is a revelation.”
Sheffer gives kudos to CBS and Procter and Gamble Productions for signing the soap vet. “In a time when everybody is looking for the youngest actors out there, CBS and P&G were crazy about getting her, and I was just thrilled.”
