ESK01 – Emma Marshall discovers Kayla Brady is Dennison’s nurse. She hires Steve to ‘spook’ Kayla out of Cleveland. In Cleveland, Steve breaks into Kayla’s apartment. She almost catches him. He hides in the closet until she falls asleep.

ESK18 – Kayla sees Steve at Shenanigans. He juggles rolls of toilet tissue. She returns his picture of Britta. Steve asks Kayla if she is afraid of him. Tom Horton offers Kayla more money to run the EC. A drunk comes in and scares Kayla.

ESK19 – Steve rescues Kayla from a dangerous drunk at the EC. He tells her to keep the doors locked. Kayla goes to the docks looking for Bo. Steve flirts with her and Bo gets angry. Steve informs Victor that Kayla is staying in Salem.

ESK20 – Bo has trouble at the warehouse with his employees. Kayla is questioned by Abe, Shane and Kim and finds out she was on the plane with Andrew and his kidnapper. Lars pays Steve a visit at the docks asking for help for Britta.

ESK21 – Lars calls Britta. Steve listens in. Britta says it is over between her and Steve. Victor visits Kayla at the EC, upsetting Bo. Steve brings Kayla stolen flowers from a Chinese restaurant.

ESK22 – Kayla brings EC flyers to Shenanigans. Steve offers to volunteer. He tells Kayla he has the perfect mouth for ‘mouth to mouth’. (Lunchbox and back pedal scene). Kayla trains Savannah while Steve and Bo argue at Allied.

ESK23 – Steve rescues Bo in a warehouse ‘accident’. Bo injures his leg; Steve gets a concussion from their fall. Kayla sees Steve in a different light when she realizes he saved Bo’s life. Steve’s feelings for Kayla continue to grow.

ESK24 – Bo and Steve deny knowing who drove the forklift that caused the accident. Steve remembers making love to Britta. Before leaving for the hospital, he stands at the EC door and looks at her. She returns his look.

ESK25 – Steve talks to Victor on the phone and tells him to be patient. Kayla comes by his apartment to check his head wound. Steve gives her a hard time, telling her he only saved Bo’s life to score points with the ‘boss’.

ESK28 – Steve returns Kayla’s scarf as he continues to torment her. She angrily removes the bandage from his head. Steve kisses her hand. “You rubbing that off, or rubbing that in?”

ESK29 – Steve plays the harp, “It’s pretty if you close your eyes.” Hope comes to see Kayla at EC in search of Bo. Hope tells Kayla her and Bo’s marriage is in trouble. Steve arrives, “Double trouble, can I handle it?”

ESK30 – Steve figures out Hope is pregnant after she nearly faints. Steve is excited for Bo. Hope begs Steve not to tell Bo or anyone else. Steve keeps her secret from Victor.

ESK31 – “You think you know what’s inside of me, but you don’t know.” Steve and Savannah bicker at the EC while she flirts with Neil while he flirts with Kayla. Victor’s goons plan to teach Steve a lesson.

ESK33 – Kayla finds a badly beaten Steve on the pier. She struggles to help him back to his apartment. He refuses her help, but eventually gives in. Nursing his wounds, she sees under his patch.

ESK34 – Kayla explains to Chris why she is taking care of Steve. Chris warns her to be careful. Steve’s condition worsens and he hallucinates about Britta. Kayla stays the night taking care of him.

ESK35 – Steve wakes to find Kayla sleeping in the chair beside his bed. He tries to cover her with a blanket. She misinterprets him as being fresh. They argue before she leaves. He calls Emma Marshal and quits his ‘job’.

ESK36 – “Florence Nightingale, my very own angel of mercy.” Steve figures out Emma is involved with Dennison and the kidnapping. He threatens Emma for the truth. He then lures Kayla to his apartment to get information about Dennison.

ESK37 – Steve leaves a note for Kayla about Dr. Dennison being involved in Andrew kidnapping. Kayla tells Kim and Shane about the note. Steve convinces Victor to hire him again to spy on Kayla, seeing how he has ‘learned his lesson’.

ESK38 – Steve is leisurely sunning on pier with ‘Keep Out’ diary. An angry Kayla slaps a beer bottle from his hand and accuses Steve of helping in Andrew’s kidnapping. Steve denies knowing about the Andrew’s disappearance.

ESK39 – Kayla again confronts Steve about knowing leaving her the note about Dr. Dennison. Steve gets fresh and Kayla slaps him. Steve blackmails Emma into telling him about Dennison’s hideout.

ESK40 – Kayla is worried she that hasn’t heard from Kim and Shane. She asks for help from Bo and Hope. They go to Cleveland in search of Kim and Shane. Steve goes to Cleveland and finds Dennison’s hideout.

ESK41 – Kayla, Bo and Hope find Kim and Shane at Dennison’s warehouse hideout. Steve is there and almost captures Dennison, but Bo stops him. Everyone thinks Steve is involved and he is arrested.

ESK49 – Frankie and Max return to their apartment to find Steve waiting. Steve flashbacks to his childhood. Frankie asks if he is going to tell a social worker. Kayla finds a somber Steve on the pier. Britta pines over a picture of Steve.

ESK50 – Roman sees Kayla for more meds for Britta. Steve slips in and overhears. He goes to Roman’s to see Britta. She tells him she left so to save him from Victor. He tells her he doesn’t believe her; it’s over between them.

ESK51 – Steve asks Bo for help. Steve asks Bo to tell Victor to stay away from Britta. Bo agrees. Kayla finds Roman on the pier and gives him Britta’s meds. Bo talks to Victor and tells him to leave Britta alone. Victor asks Bo to go to Europe.

ESK52 – Victor goes to see Britta. He threatens Steve and Lars if Britta doesn’t help him. She tells him all she knows. Billings, Roman’s contact to Stockholm, is shot and dies at the EC, but not before telling Roman, ‘Three Knives’.

ESK53 – Steve finds Britta sitting on the pier. She says she doesn’t have to worry about Victor anymore. Steve finds Kayla crying outside the EC. He walks her home. Next day, Kayla asks if he found Frankie and Max. Steve says no.

ESK54 – Steve brings Frankie and Max some needed groceries and a lock for the door. Frankie protests, but Steve installs the lock and feeds Max. When Steve gets ready to leave, he opens the door to find Kayla on the other side.

ESK55 – Kayla accuses Steve of lying to her about Frankie and Max’s whereabouts. She tries to examine Max. She says she is going to call Social Services. Frankie blames Steve. Steve says he won’t let it happen. He has another flashback.

ESK56 – Steve stops Kayla from calling Social Services. They argue and Steve leaves. Kayla finds Steve on the pier. He tells Kayla about being in the orphanage. He tells her of his brother being adopted and him being left behind.

ESK57 – Steve tells Kayla not to call Social Services. It’s a promise she can’t make. Frankie and Max come to Steve’s apartment, upset because Kayla came to there’s with a Social Worker. Kayla comes to Steve’s with the Social Worker.

ESK58 – The boys will be separated. Kayla argues with the Social Worker. Steve throws the Social Worker out, and then asks Kayla to leave. Hope visits Kayla to ask if she can move back in without Bo. Steve comes to the loft to talk to Kayla.

ESK59 – Kayla agrees to help keep the boys together. The Social Worker comes to Steve’s with the police and takes Max away. Frankie wrecks the EC trying to find out where Max is. Steve comes in and calms Frankie down. Frankie tells Kayla off.

ESK60 – Steve tries to talk to Frankie. Steve demands Kayla to call Social Services. Kayla promises to bring the boys back together. The Social Worker comes to the EC. She leaves Kayla the phone number of family Max has been placed with.

ESK61 – Max ran away. Steve is out all night looking for him. Kayla is worried and waiting at Steve’s. “You don’t hear me making personal comments about your mouth…” Chris pulls Steve away from Kayla. The system doesn’t work for Steve.

ESK62 – Steve and Frankie argue on the pier. Steve finds Max hiding inside his apartment. Steve brings Frankie to Max. Kayla comes by to apologize for Chris. Steve tells her to go find Max. Kayla leaves after becoming irritated with Steve.

ESK63 – Steve finds Kayla on the pier. Kayla tells Steve how guilty she feels. Steve tries to comfort her. Kayla storms in Steve’s apartment to discover Steve and a sleeping Max. Steve and the boys decide to trust her again.

ESK64 – Kayla talks to her mom about keeping Frankie and Max. She agrees. Steve argues with Frankie, who is trying to leave with Max. Kayla returns and tells them the news. Steve and Kayla take the boys to meet Caroline and Shawn.

ESK80 – Kayla stops by the Brady Fish Market to visit with the boys. She is surprised to see Steve there. Steve refuses to let her see Max’s picture. While standing outside, Steve recalls Britta’s harsh words to him concerning Kayla.

ESK81 – Steve leaves Max at the Emergency Center, but is persuaded by a scared Max to return only to find a junkie harassing Kayla. Steve rescues Kayla, but she has been stabbed. Steve’s “gentle hands” tend to Kayla’s wound.

ESK82 – Roman and Abe come to the EC after arresting the junkie. Steve and Kayla eye-snoggle. At the loft, Kayla dreams about Steve stopping by to make sure she’s ok. They kiss. She wakes to find Steve standing at the end of the couch.

ESK83 – Steve shows up at the loft to give Kayla a gun. After arguing about the gun, Steve leaves. Britta then comes for a visit. Britta uses the restroom with hopes of planting a camera so to get a picture of Bo’s tattoo.

ESK84 – Britta interrogates Kayla; then offers her unwanted advice about Steve, obviously jealous. Steve finds Britta on the pier and questions her visit to the loft. After spilling her purse, Steve finds pictures of his tattoo.

ESK85 – Steve argues with Britta over the tattoo pictures. Britta claims to love Steve. Kayla overhears Steve threaten to kill Britta. Visibly shaken, Kayla visits Kim and reschedules their dinner plans.

ESK86 – Britta is shot. Roman finds her on the pier and takes her to the EC. Steve stops by the Cheatin’ Heart and recalls Kayla refusing the gun, then arguing with Britta as he looks at the tattoo pictures. Savannah joins him.

ESK87 – Kayla’s attempt to save Britta fails. Britta dies. Lars comes to the EC. Kayla tells Bo Britta is dead. Steve gets drunk with Savannah. Steve shows up at the loft mistaking Hope for Kayla.

ESK91 – Steve and Kayla are ‘arrested’ by fake cops. Steve sends one on a goose chase. Steve and Kayla pretend to argue and knock out the other ‘cop’. Steve and Kayla check in at hotel as a honeymooning ‘couple in love’.

ESK92 – Steve and Kayla check into a hotel. Honeymoon suite is available. They argue while trying to get settled in bed. Steve has the ‘wedding attire’ fantasy. He cuddles beside Kayla as she sleeps.

ESK93 – Steve and Kayla hold hands as they sleep. He strokes her hair and face before she wakes. They continue to argue. Breakfast in bed arrives. They escape when the fake cops arrive. The go to a barn and find tools to free the handcuffs.

ESK94 – In the barn, Steve asks Kayla if she thinks he is guilty. She believes he is innocent. He straightens her hair. She leaves, but returns when no one is home and it starts to rain. She waits out storm with Steve. He gives her his coat.

ESK95 – Farmer holds a rifle on Steve and Kayla. Kayla convinces the farmer she is a nurse. The farmer knows Dr. Mike. Kayla asks Steve to trust her. They head back to Salem. Kayla calls Roman. They hear someone coming.

ESK96 – Kayla’s parents come to the loft. While hiding, they listen to her parents’ conversation. Steve and Kayla have a one-sided conversation about feelings. Kayla tells him, “I am not Britta.” Steve makes the morning paper.

ESK97 – Steve and Kayla read the lies in the newspaper. Kayla begs Steve not to leave. Roman and Hope walk in on Steve. Steve escapes. Steve meets Frankie on the pier who tells Steve about an old shack where he can hide out.

ESK98 – Roman attacks Frankie, asking about Steve’s whereabouts. Frankie tells Kayla where Steve is hiding. Once Kayla finds Steve, she tries to convince him to turn himself in. Steve refuses, then leaves.

ESK99 – Kayla tells Roman she found Steve. Steve comes back. Roman tells him he believes he’s innocent. They talk about Stockholm. Steve runs into Chris on the pier. Chris tells Steve in no uncertain terms to leave Kayla alone.

ESK100 – Steve retrieves Britta’s purse from the river. Bo shows up on the dock and accuses Steve of murdering Britta. Steve turns the purse over to Roman. The assistant DA shows up to hold Steve for questioning.
