SK001 – Kayla brings Steve the emeralds. They share their FIRST KISS. Kayla wants to stay, but Steve sends her away, telling her he cannot understand why she would want a one-eyed bum like him.

SK002 – Kayla finds Steve on the pier. Steve tries his best to make Kayla angry so that she will leave before Warner arrives. He discourages her from thinking they can have any kind of relationship. Kayla leaves and Warner shows up, threatening to hurt Steve if he doesn’t hand over the emeralds. Kayla hides in the shadows and listens.

SK003 – Steve disarms Warner, and then gives him the emeralds. Steve tells Warner to stay away from him and throws the money back in his face. Warner leaves and Kayla comes out wanting to know why Steve turned down the money. Steve tells her again that he is ‘one of those people’.

SK004 – At the hospital, Kayla gives Jennifer advice. She then talks to Mike about her feelings for Steve. Mike sympathizes. Steve finds a ladies hankie in his apartment and thinks it is Kayla’s. (Mysterious Adrienne sighting.) Kayla and Mike continue to talk.

SK005 – Steve goes to the hospital to return the hankie. Kayla assures him it is not hers. He tells her to be careful what she wishes for, she just might get it. Kayla is at Shenanigans when Steve arrives. Trying to prove they are not so different, Kayla orders the same as Steve and drinks a BEER AND EGG for breakfast.

SK006 – Steve confronts Kayla about what she is trying to prove. He leaves and goes to the Cheatin’ Heart (Mysterious Adrienne sighting). Kayla follows him there saying she just came by to shoot a couple of games. Steve decides to teach her how to play pool when he realizes she doesn’t know how.

SK007 – Steve gets close to Kayla as he teaches her how to make a shot. He tells her which cue to use, saying she’s not reeling in a shark. Kayla implies that it would depend on who you talk to. When the barkeeper asks Steve to settle his bill, Steve walks away and Kayla sinks two balls. The crowd cheers.

SK008 – Steve walks Kayla home as she brags about winning $1.40. Steve buys hot chestnuts when Kayla complains of being cold. He then wraps his arms around her, telling her he doesn’t know what he’s going to do with her. A near kiss is interrupted when he stops a woman he thinks is the one following him. They head back to the loft.

SK009 – They arrive at the loft. Kayla asks Steve not to go. He teases her about turning 16 shades of red. They share a PASSIONATE KISS. Steve tells her he can’t be the man that spoils her. Steve tells her she’s too damn beautiful. Kayla tells him this is right before they kiss again.

SK010 – Steve builds a fire as Kayla turns on the radio. As ‘If Your Heart Comes Out Tonight’ plays, they kiss. A phone call from Dr. Horton with news of Marlena’s accident interrupts them. Steve walks Kayla to the fish market so she can be with her family. When she comes back out, she finds him waiting for her.

SK011 – Steve and Kayla walk on the pier as Kayla talks about Marlena. Steve comforts her. When they return to the loft, Kayla states that she knows Orpheus is behind Marlena’s ‘death’. Steve tells Kayla he doesn’t want her to stay alone.

SK012 – Kayla wakes up on the couch when Steve’s hand covers her mouth. Steve wakes up and notices it is afternoon. They share an affectionate hug and almost kiss. Kayla tells Steve to take a shower there. When he goes upstairs, Caroline pays an unexpected visit. Steve comes down in nothing but a towel looking for soap. Caroline is shocked.

SK013 – Steve hides in the stairwell as Kayla and Caroline argue. When they opt not to argue any longer, Caroline asks Kayla if she can watch Max. After she leaves, and upset Steve tells Kayla that her family wants what’s best for her and he is not it. Kayla says she knows what she wants and gives him a passionate kiss. Steve leaves frustrated.

SK014 – Caroline brings Max to a very busy clinic. Steve comes to the rescue and takes Max with him. Caroline returns for Max but Steve hasn’t brought him back yet. An angry Kayla finds Steve with Max at the Cheatin’ Heart. She fusses at Steve for bringing him there and for being late.

SK015 – Steve is waiting for Kayla when she returns from taking Max home. They continue to argue. Steve tells Kayla to accept him the way he is or just give it up. The next day, Kayla meets Steve in the park and tells him she’s made her decision. They kiss. He tries to convince her he’s no good for her.

SK016 – Steve and Kayla continue to argue in the park. Steve tells her he is a one-eyed bum. Kayla leaves argue, but not before telling Steve she is the best thing that has ever happened to him. Steve looks for Kayla. Kayla is upset and runs out of her parents house. They meet again in the park.

SK017 – Steve asks Kayla is ok, and then tells her to leave. Steve insists they don’t belong together. As she weeps, Kayla tells him they have a chance at something special and she doesn’t want to throw it away.

SK018 – Kayla asks Steve to look into her eyes and tell her he doesn’t care. He can’t. He walks her back to the fish market. She tells him he still hasn’t answered. Steve finally admits that he cares for her, and he wants her. Both cry as they share a warm embrace. When Kayla goes inside, Steve asks himself, “What’d you get yourself into here, Dude?”

SK019 – Steve stops by unexpectedly at the loft. Kayla is getting ready for Marlena’s memorial service. After he comforts her, Kayla tells Steve she has a surprise for her. When she leaves to get it, Steve answers the door to find Bo and Hope. The surprise has to wait as Kayla tells them she is going to the service with Steve. They decide to go together.

SK020 – They arrive at Marlena’s memorial service. Steve leaves after telling Kayla her family doesn’t need to see her on his arm. Kayla returns to the loft and finds Steve waiting for his ‘surprise’. He opens the gift and finds a POOL CUE. It is the first gift he has ever gotten for no reason. He refuses to stay the night. “Other women I can love and leave…”

SK021 – After decorating her treee, Kayla hears Steve outside the loft door. She catches him leaving a present for Max. He explains to her that he won’t be in town for Christmas. Kayla is upset by the news.

SK022 – Kayla continues to try and talk Steve into staying around for Christmas. Steve tells Kayla he doesn’t have any family. Steve tells Kayla not to feel sorry for him. She doesn’t always gets what she wishes for. He kisses her good-bye. When he opens the loft door to leave, he finds Max waiting on the other side.

SK023 – Steve asks Max if he was careful on his way over. Max asks Kayla to take him to the store so he can buy Steve a gift for Christmas. Steve slips out, obviously upset that Max wants to buy him a gift. Kayla goes to her parents to help Max and Kimberly arrives. They discuss Steve not being around for Christmas and Max overhears.

SK024 – Kayla and Kimberly discover that Max has overheard them discussing that Steve won’t be around for Christmas. Max refuses to speak. Kayla calls Steve and tells him to come over right away. Steve arrives and tries to get Max to speak, but Max remains silent. Kayla tells Steve that Max wants him to stay for Christmas.

SK025 – Steve accuses Kayla and Max of being in co-hoots in trying to get him to stay in town for Christmas. After explaining to Max why he doesn’t like Christmas, he gets Max to promise him that he will have a Merry Christmas with the Brady’s. Kayla listens from the couch, moved by Steve’s plea for Max to enjoy Christmas as a present to him.

SK026 – It’s Christmas Eve and Steve is at the Cheatin’ Heart. After kicking the jukebox, he plays a game of pool. Kayla comes in and wants to know why he didn’t leave town. After turning down her offer to spend Christmas with her and her family, she tries to leave in a huff. Steve stops her and tells her not to pout; Santa Claus is coming to town.

SK027 – Kayla walks Hope home. On the pier, Kayla tells Hope how mad Steve makes her. Hope tries to explain to Kayla why Steve acts the way he does. While there, they see someone dressed up as Santa handing out gifts to needy children.

SK028 – Patchy Claus continues to hand out gifts to the children. Kayla and Hope are moved, but Kayla gets angry over the fact that Steve hides things like this from her. Before she leaves, Hope tells her that only she can decide if he is worth it and that she needs to talk to him. Kayla looks on, and then leaves.

SK029 – Steve comes back into the Cheatin’ Heart unaware that Kayla is waiting for him. She tells him she saw him at the pier handing out gifts. She asks why he hides the sweet side of him from her. The share a kiss but are interrupted by Max and Frankie. Max gives him a gift. Steve explains why he has a Santa outfit.

SK030 – Kayla asks Steve one last time to come to her family’s for Christmas. He says he is not ready for that yet. She kisses him on the cheek and leaves. Steve pulls out a gift for Kayla from his bag. On Christmas Day, he startles her in the park and then gives her the gift. Kayla is surprised.

SK031 – Kayla is surprised by Steve’s gift. He says if it’s a squirt gun, he might want to trade her for it. She tells him if it is, he might have to run for it. She is surprised by a beautiful necklace. He helps her put it on. She asks him to go to the children’s Christmas party, but he declines. She kisses him sweetly on the check and leaves.

SK032 – Kayla finds Steve at the steps to his apartment. She brought him a gift. He smiles when he sees the squirt gun. She gives him a cookbook, along with an open invitation to cook dinner at her place. He opens the cookbook and reads the words to ‘The Rose’ that Kayla has written on the front page. Steve is obviously moved.

SK033 – Kayla thanks Steve again for the necklace. Steve kisses her before wishing her a Merry Christmas. Steve shows up at the EC pretending to be sick. (Mysterious Adrienne sighting). Kayla asks Steve what he saw. He tells her he saw Santa Claus and enjoys a big laugh. Kayla is not amused.

SK034 – Steve continues to tease Kayla about seeing Santa. The EC starts to get busy and Steve offers to help Kayla with the ‘rush hour’. Kayla is surprised by his offer. Steve sends Kayla to the back with a patient as he starts processing those waiting and answering the phone.

SK035 – Steve continues taking care of the patients in the waiting room. Kayla is surprised to see how under control Steve has everything. More patients arrive as the EC continues to get busier.

SK036 – In the busy EC, Steve threatens to tell his Bangkok story. When a patient states that they want the nurse, Steve confesses, “So do I, but we all got to wait our turn.” To keep their minds off their troubles, Steve leads the waiting patients in a song. Kayla is surprised. And yet again, another mysterious Adrienne sighting.

SK037 – The last of the patients leave the EC with Steve’s advice. He and Kayla sit down and talk. He rests his feet in her lap as he complains of all his hard work. Kayla is very complimentary, and then chastises him for not being able to take a compliment. Steve asks Kayla if she would like to go get something to eat. She regrets that she can’t. Steve leaves.

SK038 – Steve returns to the EC just as Kayla is finishing up. He tells her he has been playing pool. She reminds him of his earlier dinner invitation. After some playful banter, they decide to go out and eat together. Steve sees Adrienne through the window. This time, he catches her.

SK039 – A short clip of Steve confronting Adrienne. He asks her over and over again who she is, but she avoids answering him. He tells her to stop following him, but she denies she is. She leaves without giving him any answers, but he can’t help but look like he’s seen a ghost. Kayla comes out of the EC and startles him.

SK040 – Kayla tells Steve he looks like he’s seen a ghost. He insists he is fine. He tells her he knows a ‘joint’ where they can relax and enjoy a gourmet meal. He takes Kayla back to his place where she insists there is no way he could prepare a gourmet meal on a hot plate. He insists he can.

SK041 – Kayla agrees to try Steve’s home cooked gourmet meal. Adrienne walks by, upsetting Steve. Steve serves Kayla a dinner of curry. They both wear French berets. Kayla puts on her hat and innocently asks, “Do I look good enough to eat?” Their meal begins.

SK042 – Steve feeds Kayla her first taste of the curry. She is impressed and sends her compliments to the chef. They share a kiss. Once their meal is finished, Steve insists she ‘eat her words’ about his hot plate. Steve offers to give Kayla a massage.

SK043 – Steve asks Kayla to unbutton her shirt for massage purposes. She complies, and then lays across the bed. Steve starts the message and Kayla says she must be in heaven. Very tired after a long day at work, Kayla falls asleep, never knowing that Steve bends down and kisses her shoulder, and then whispers then her ear.

SK044 – Realizing Kayla is asleep, Steve asks her what she is doing there with a man like him. He tells her she is beautiful, and that he is glad she is there. He covers her with a blanket, and then sits in a chair and watches her sleep. Caroline, Neil and Kayla plan the New Year’s Eve party. Kayla contemplates inviting Steve.

SK045 – Caroline and Kayla continue talking about the New Year’s Eve party. Kayla debates on whether to ask Steve, wondering if she should take things slow. Victor interrupts their conversation. Afterwards, Kayla confronts Caroline, asking if she ever wonders what could have been.

SK046 – Kayla and Caroline continue to talk. Kayla decides to ask Steve to the party, though Caroline worries she might get hurt. Kayla finds Steve in the park and asks him to the party. Steve declines. Kayla pretends that she isn’t disappointed, but she is. Steve realizes he disappointed her.

SK047 – Bo and Hope come by the loft so that Hope can get her dress for the party. Kayla tells Bo she’s not going. When Kayla answers a knock at the door, she is shocked to find a formally dressed Steve ready to take her to the party. Hope is duely impressed with how nice Steve looks. Steve gives Kayla yellow roses.

SK048 – Bo and Hope walk through the park as Bo continues to complain about Kayla seeing Steve. Hope tells Bo that Steve is not as bad as everyone thinks. Victor joins the conversation. After Hope leaves, Bo tells Victor of his concerns for Kayla. After Bo leaves, Victor gives orders for discrimination evidence to be sent to Kayla.

SK049 – Steve waits nervously on the couch as Kayla gets ready for the party. He is awestruck when he sees her. He helps her put on the necklace he gave her for Christmas. She takes him to the mirror and makes him look at himself. He gently kisses her hand when she tells him this is reality.

SK050 – Steve and Kayla walk through the park on the way to the party. Steve stops and tells Kayla this is a fantasy, his fantasy. They share a kiss. Kayla asks him how much he wants to go to the party. They turn around and go back to the loft. Sitting in front of the fireplace kissing, Kayla asks if he is still afraid of her.

SK051 – As Steve and Kayla kiss by the firelight, a messenger knocks at the door. Kayla signs for the papers, but returns her attention to Steve. The New Year rings in. Steve and Kayla end up on the couch. When Kayla motions for Steve to unzip her dress, a rock crashes through the window.

SK052 – Steve goes after the kids that threw the window. While he is out, Kayla opens and reads the papers that Victor had delivered. When Steve returns, he covers the window. Kayla is obviously upset. When he tries to get cozy again with Kayla, she prepares to confront him.

SK053 – Kayla asks Steve questions. He tries to cover up. Kayla shows him the papers. He tells her someone did her a big favor. He admits that he was paid to follow her. Kayla is devastated.

SK054 – Kayla and Steve continue to argue as the truth comes out. Steve tells her that her heart played a nasty trick on her. Kayla wants to know why he couldn’t just say he was sorry. Steve asks her if she is going to say she is sorry for being so damn perfect.

SK055 – Kayla figures out that it was Steve who ransacked her apartment. Steve admits he was working for Emma Marshall. She worries that Steve was involved with Andrew’s kidnapping. Steve tells her that he wants Andrew back home as much as anyone else. Kayla doesn’t know what is real, or all in a day’s work.

SK056 – Short clip where Steve tells Kayla all the good parts are real. She tells him to go. Steve stands outside the door to the loft and grieves. Kayla sits in front of the fire and cries.

SK057 – Kayla sits by the fire and weeps as she remembers Steve and all they have been through together. Steve stands outside the loft and also remembers. Their memories are accompanied with the song, ‘If Your Heart Comes Out Tonight’.

SK058 – Kayla brings Max to Shenanigans for lunch. Max sees Steve and wants him to join them. Kayla is reluctant. Max calls Steve over, and then gets upset when Steve tells him he can’t stay. Max runs out of the restaurant upset and Steve goes after him.

SK059 – Steve explains to Max why he couldn’t eat lunch with him and Kayla. Max asks Steve if he still likes Kayla. Kayla stands on the stairs and overhears as Steve tells Max he likes her a whole lot. Kayla joins them and then they go back inside for lunch together.

SK060 – Steve and Max trade jokes as they finish their lunch. Kayla laughs with them. Kayla says she has to go back to work, but Max needs to go to the restroom first. She and Steve talks, and she tells him what he said outside was nice. Steve simply replies, “What else could I say?” Kayla seems hurt by his remark.

SK061 – Kayla and Max leave. Steve comes to the EC, but is reluctant to go in. Kayla is busy training Adrienne. Steve finally enters and confronts Adrienne as to way she is there. Steve and Adrienne argue, with Steve telling Adrienne to stay away from Kayla. Kayla fusses at Steve for giving Adrienne a hard time.

SK062 – Kayla continues to fuss at Steve for giving Adrienne a hard time. Steve leaves angry. Kayla questions Adrienne, and then leaves to take a walk and pick up lunch. Meeting him by accident at Shenanigans, Kayla then storms out when Steve again acts the smart aleck.

SK063 – Steve finds Kayla in the alley. He apologies for saying something about Adrienne. Kayla confronts him about not sharing how he feels. She tells him how he needs to open up and trust her.

SK064 – Steve compares Kayla’s world with his. Steve tells her it is too painful for him to talk or think about his past. Adrienne listens from the shadows. The next day, Kayla finds Steve eating breakfast at Shenanigans. She asks him to tell her what he was talking about when they were in the alley.

SK065 – Joanie interrupts Steve and Kayla’s conversation. Steve immediately leaves the two ladies to talk, but not before having a flashback to the first time he kissed Kayla. Joanie introduces herself to Kayla and proceeds to tell her why she is there.

SK066 – Joanie tells Kayla that she can no longer keep her little boy because she can’t provide for him. She asks if Kayla can help her, and Kayla reluctantly tells her she can. Joanie goes to work at the Cheatin’ Heart. Steve asks her about her son, and she tells him her plans. Steve immediately tells her she can’t give up her son.

SK067 – Joanie tells Steve she doesn’t want to give up her son, but she has no choice. Steve tells Joanie he will help her, that her kid deserves to be with his mother. Kayla overhears Steve talking to Joanie, and is obviously moved. When given the info about adoptions, Steve tears it up and says she won’t need it.

SK068 – Joanie thanks both Steve and Kayla for their help. Kayla confronts Steve and ask if this was what he was talking about in the alley. She tells him she understands, and an angry Steve shouts that she has no idea how he felt. The next day, Steve sees Kayla talking with Chris about Kimberly’s case. Kayla is worried.

SK069 – Steve approaches Kayla and asks if she’s having a chat with her old boyfriend. He realizes she’s worried and they talk about the evidence against Kimberly. Steve offers to help, but Kayla doesn’t think there is anything he can do. Steve breaks into Roman’s office and takes a look at the files. Roman returns unexpectedly.

SK070 – Roman gives Steve a hard time asking him why he’s there. Steve gives his a hard time in return. Steve leaves Roman a quarter to call someone and get Kimberly out of jail. Kayla comes to visit Roman to see how things are going with Kimberly.

SK071 – Roman tells Kayla about Steve’s visit. Kayla tells Roman she didn’t have anything to do with his visit. Roman tells Kayla to tell ‘her buddy’ to stay out of the case. Kayla goes to the Cheatin’ Heart and asks Steve why he broke into Roman’s off.

SK072 – Kayla fusses at Steve for breaking in. She then asks what he found in the files. Steve tells her of the evidence against Kimberly. Things look really bad for Kimberly. They continue to argue over whether or not Steve should help.

SK073 – Steve tells Kayla they are too different in the way they look at the system. She tells him he is wrong, that they are on the same side. Steve reminds Kayla that if they didn’t have the evidence, they wouldn’t have a case. Kayla meets Roman at Shenanigans. Roman tells her he is off the case. Steve overhears.

SK074 – Steve joins Kayla and Roman. Steve tells Roman there are ways of getting things done. Roman refuses Steve’s offer to help. Roman leaves for Kimberly’s hearing. Steve asks Kayla if she wants his help. Kayla strokes Steve’s cheek and tells him there is nothing he can do. Steve says there is something he cand do.

SK075 – In disguise, Steve breaks into the evidence room and steals the evidence against Kimberly. Kayla sees Steve in the alley. She is upset that Kimberly has been charged with 1st degree murder. Steve gives Kayla encouragement that everything will work out for the best.

SK076 – In the alley, Steve continues to encourage Kayla. She thanks him for caring. Later, at the emergency center, Kayla tells Steve the evidence is missing. Steve tells her that’s good news. Steve tells Kayla how great this is for Kimberly. Kayla begins to feel good out the turn of events.

SK077 – Steve tells Kayla how good it is to see her smile again. She thanks him for making him feel better. She kisses him on the cheek, and they almost share a passionate kiss when Adrienne interrupts. When Kayla goes to the back, Steve starts questioning Adrienne.

SK078 – Steve continues to question Adrienne. Getting nowhere, a frustrated Steve leaves the EC. Kayla questions Adrienne about her and Steve’s relationship. Kayla joins Roman and Kimberly at Shenanigans. They discuss the fact that the missing evidence is not a good thing, and that Roman is to blame.

SK079 – Kayla figures out that Steve may be behind the missing evidence. She returns to the EC desperate to find Steve. He shows up unexpectedly and Kayla asks him if he is behind the missing evidence. Steve denies it at first, and then admits he is the one who took the evidence.

SK080 – Kayla asks Steve to take the evidence back. He tells her he can’t. Later and in disguise, Steve again breaks into the evidence room and returns the evidence. On the way out, he is caught by two policemen. Kayla returns to the EC, obviously nervous.

SK081 – Kayla explains to Adrienne why she is upset with Steve. Steve is brought into Roman’s office. Roman calls in Kayla. When asked, Kayla lies for Steve saying that he had nothing to do with the missing evidence. Roman charges Steve with resisting arrest.

SK082 – Kayla visits Steve in jail. She tells him that she is getting him out. Steve insists she go to the Cheatin’ Heart and get an advance for bail money. Adrienne comes to the station to find out about Steve. Roman grills Adriene trying to find out who she is.

SK083 – Adrienne eavesdrops as Kayla insists Roman drop all charges against Steve. Roman says he can’t and Kayla lists one reason after the other why he should. Roman finally relents after he realizes Kayla is right. Adrienne offers Kayla her support on both Kimberly’s trial and with Steve.

SK084 – Kayla gets ready to leave when Roman brings Steve up for release. Steve tells Kayla he hopes all goes well with Kimberly. Roman rushes Steve, “You sound like a woman I once knew.” Kayla invites Steve to dinner at her place. Kayla and Steve aren’t allowed into Kimberly’s hearing. They arrive at the loft and Kayla insists she be the one to cook dinner.

SK085 – Steve decides he needs a shower. Kayla tells him to take one there. A freshly showered and partially dressed Steve comes back down and leads Kayla to the fireplace. They kiss. As things heat up, Kayla unbuttons her blouse. Surprisingly, a knock at the door interrupts them. “It it’s one of your brothers, I’m going to commit murder.”

SK086 – Kayla finds an upset Adrienne at the door. Someone has broken into her apartment. Steve is obviously upset. He leaves, telling Kayla that next time they move faster. A few days later, Steve shows up at the loft pretending to take a survey. They talk about finishing what they started the other night. Per usual, Adrienne interrupts.

SK087 – Steve asks Kayla why Adrienne is still there. Adrienne offers to leave, and then offers to cook dinner for Steve and Kayla before she goes. Steve is snarky, asking for a dish known as ‘Johnson’s Temptation’. Kayla asks to speak to Steve alone.

SK088 – Steve fusses at Kayla for letting Adrienne stay. Kayla hugs him while assuring him that they will have their time alone. Adrienne offers to leave, but then offers to cook dinner before leaving them alone. Kayla continues to ask Steve to understand. He says ok, if she serves him desert. She asks him if he thinks he can handle desert.

SK089 – Steve questions Adrienne while she cooks. Kayla comes down dressed for a nice dinner. Adrienne serves them a salad, but Steve can’t get comfortable. Adreinne’s sleeve catches on fire and Steve comes to the rescue. He manages to put the fire out before she is hurt to badly, but the fire has stirred memories.

SK090 – Steve is visibly upset about the fire. Kayla and Adrienne return from the ER. After finding out Adrienne is ok, Steve leaves. Standing outside the loft door, he suddenly has memories of his childhood, and of a fire. Later, Steve visits Kayla at the EC and sees that she is worried.

SK091 – Steve strokes Kayla’s face as he tells her he has been thinking about her. He tries to make plans for the night, but Kayla is too worried about Adrienne. Kayla says she is going to see Adrienne, but Steve tries to stop her. They argue, but finally says he will go with her. The go to Adrienne’s low-rent apartment and find her sick.

SK092 – Steve and Kayla realize how destitute Adrienne is. Kayla tells Adrienne that she will now be paid to work at the EC. While finding some warmer clothes, Kayla opens a drawer where Steve finds his toy train. He asks where Adrienne got it, but she says she doesn’t remember.

SK093 – Steve wants an answer about why Adrienne has his toy train. He remembers more of his childhood. He tells Kayla the need to go. Kayla insists on taking Adrienne with her. Steve objects. Back at the EC, Kayla tells Steve she wants to be alone with him, too, and understands his anger.

SK094 – Kayla tells Steve that Adrienne won’t be staying forever. They share a romantic kiss, but Steve leaves abruptly. He goes back to his apartment to find his toy train is missing from his red box. He has flashbacks of his childhood. Back at the EC, he and Kayla plan for a romatic evening at his place. “And I’m not the only one with an apartment.”

SK095 – Steve suggests they let the suspense keep building. Kayla says, “Any more suspense and we’ll be in a Hitchcock movie.” Steve makes plans to pick Kayla up at 6:00. Kayla and Adrienne about Steve and how much she admires him. Kayla tells Adrienne how special the night will be for her and Steve.

SK096 – A happy Steve returns to his apartment with yellow roses, champagne, and new accessories. Frankie comes by for an unexpected visit. Frankie tells Steve he’s going to a party for Alice Horton. Steve has his apartment all set up for his date with Kayla, but finds a desperate Joanie at his door when he gets ready to leave.

SK097 – Joanie tells Steve she needs $200 or she and Johnny won’t have a place to sleep. Steve is strapped for cash, but tells Joanie he can get the money tomorrow. Realizing that won’t work, Steve calls Kayla and tells her he will be late. Kayla understands, but grows more anxious as time passes.

SK098 – Kayla goes for a walk. Steve wins another game at the Cheatin’ Heart. Kayla stops by and sees him playing pool. A devastated Kayla returns to the EC and tells Adrienne that Steve won’t do this to her again. Steve calls the EC looking for Kayla, but she has already left. Steve leaves the Cheatin’ Heart defeated. Kayla returns to the EC and sends Adrienne home.

SK099 – Kayla stays at the EC fighting back the tears. Steve returns to his apartment, obviously hurt. The next day, Steve comes to the EC looking for Kayla. Adrienne tells him that Kayla hasn’t been there all day and won’t be in. Kayla comes out and Adrienne tells her how much she hated lying. Kayla says she is finished with Steve.

SK100 – Steve drinks a beer and egg at Shenanigans. Frankie arrives and asks about his date with Kayla. Steve still denies it was a date. Frankie talks about his problems with Jennifer. In the same conversation, Steve finds out that Kayla was at the EC. Adrienne tells a hurting Kayla that Steve was asking for her.
