ESK101 – The assistant DA insists Steve be retained for questioning. Roman stands up for Steve, but Steve is locked up. Kayla talks with Kim. Kayla visits Steve in jail. They argue. Steve is angry and tells Kayla to get out of his life.

ESK102 – The assistant DA insists Steve be arrested for murder. Bo overhears Victor ordering that Steve remain in jail. Bo tells Victor to get Steve released. Kayla visits Steve. They argue. Bo warns Kayla to stay away from Steve. Lars visits Steve. Steve is released. Kayla offers him a ride home.

ESK103 – Kayla visits Steve to tell him about Max getting an award. Mike asks Steve to mug a Nazi doctor. “The mugging department is closed… try small appliances.” Max is presented his citizenship award once Steve arrives.

ESK105 – Steve, Hope and Roman look for a pic of Bo’s tattoo. Steve and Roman go to the morgue to see Britta’s tattoo. She was cremated. Kayla find Steve mourning on the pier, and offers him comfort. Steve tears up pictures of him and Britta, and then tosses them in the river.

ESK106 – Kayla is met at Steve’s door with him welding a knife. Victor pays Steve a visit. Steve tells Kayla to leave, then tells Victor he’s no longer on his payroll. Kayla overhears. Steve wants to explain, but Kayla refuses to listen. Hope and Roman ask Steve to call Lana, Gregory’s wife, for a picture of Britta’s tattoo.

ESK107 –  Steve calls Lana and asks her to work with Roman. He makes plans to see her in Stockholm. Kayla comes to the loft to find Steve. Steve explains his working for Victor. “Because I can’t lie to you anymore.” Steve and Hope get ready to leave for Stockholm. Bo storms in and stops Hope from leaving.

ESK108 – Bo and Hope argue. Kayla gives Steve a ride to the airport. Steve and Kayla talk at the airport. Steve and Roman board the plane. Hope barely makes it on time. Kayla asks Bo to come by the loft later and talk.

ESK109 – Steve, Hope and Roman arrive in Stockholm. They go visit Lana. Bo visits Kayla. Bo warns Kayla away from Steve, again. Lana is found dead. Max comes to the EC looking for Steve. The picture of Britta’s tattoo is missing. The police come in and find Steve, Hope and Roman at the scene of the crime.

ESK110 – Kayla finds out that Frankie was arrested for trespassing at Allied. Roman is arrested for Lana’s murder. Steve attacks the cop; he and Hope escape. Steve is shot. Roman is rushed to jail. Hope gets Steve back to the hotel. He calls out for Kayla. Hope calls Kayla for help. Kayla arrives in Stockholm. Steve is stunned.

ESK111 – Kayla immediately tends to Steve. “I’m taking your vitals.” “Finally.” Kayla gives Steve a sedative. “Will it make me large or small?” Steve thanks Kayla for helping him. Steve sleeps as Kayla comforts him. Hope returns from seeing Roman.

ESK112 – Hope calls Bo; tells him that Lana is dead and Roman is under arrest. Kayla and Hope talk. Hope tells Kayla that Steve called out for her. She encourages Kayla to follow her feelings towards Steve. Kayla returns from buying supplies. Steve and Kayla go back to the tattoo shop.

ESK113 – Steve and Kayla enter the tattoo shop through the trap door.  While retrieving the hidden camera, Kayla falls off the ladder.  Steve and Kayla hide from the Stockholm Police in a cramped storage box in the back room.

ESK114 – Having spent the night in the cramped box, Kayla wakes up with Steve looking at her.  Stockholm police return, but Steve and Kayla aren’t found.  They return to the hotel and have discussion with Hope and Roman about the surveillance camera.

ESK115 – Roman expresses his concern to Kayla about Steve.  Steve and Roman get supplies to develop the film.  The foursome, Steve, Kayla, Hope and Roman, attempt to develop the film.

ESK116 – Film is developed.  Roman recognizes “Orpheus” an old ISA agent that snapped.  On the flight home, Steve can’t help but rub Kayla’s face and hair while she sleeps.  Back in Salem, Steve’s face is cut up and shows up at the Emergency Center for treatment.

ESK117 – Frankie and Max stop by Steve’s empty apartment.  Frankie leaves Max telling him to go on home.  Max wonders back in and tries on Steve’s eye patch.  Steve is upset by what he sees.  Kayla drops in while Steve is yelling at Max about the eye patch.  While Steve is pushing Kayla out the door, Max speaks!!!  Orpheus lingers.

ESK118 – While Steve watches, Kayla talks to Chris at Shenanigans.  Kayla approaches Steve with plans of celebrating Max being able to talk.  She wants it to be just the two of them.  After Kayla leaves, Chris approaches Steve and tells him to “back off” from Kayla.  Long conversation between the two of them with Chris listing all of Steve’s faults.  While at the florist ordering flowers for her date with Steve, she sees him come in to buy yellow roses for someone special.

ESK119 – Kayla gets ready for her date with Steve.  Steve is also getting ready at his apartment.  Kayla has fantasy about the date. In her fantasy, they kiss. “They don’t compare.”

ESK120 – While Kayla waits for Steve, Bo drops by the loft.  Bo lets Kayla know that he’s not happy about the situation with Steve.  As Bo leaves, he runs into Steve at the elevator.  He wants Steve to leave Kayla alone; she wouldn’t understand the world Steve comes from.  Steve has second thoughts and leaves. Kayla finds yellow roses outside the loft door.

ESK121 – Steve drops by the Cheatin’ Heart and is approached by a hooker, Florence.  Steve leaves with Florence.  They are outside Steve’s apartment when Kayla walks by and sees Steve kissing Florence.  Kayla leaves upset not knowing that Steve paid the hooker and sent her on her way without her ‘services’.  While leaving, Florence falls ill and Steve sends her to the Emergency Center. “If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody” background music.

ESK122 – Steve stops by the EC to apologize for standing Kayla up, but she’s not having any of it.  Florence stops in because she’s not feeling well.  As Kayla asks questions of the new patient, Florence talks about the “john” paying for their meeting, but nothing happened.  Florence tells Kayla that her “john” just kept talking about his girl.  Roman stops by Steve’s apartment for answers about the attack on Steve.  A soaking wet Kayla shows up at Steve’s apartment to apologize.

ESK123 – Kayla offers Steve a yellow rose.  She apologizes and wants him to explain what happened.  Steve becomes indignant towards Kayla when he realizes she knows about the hooker. They argue. Kayla finds Steve’s packed duffel bag and is visibly upset.  “People are counting on you.” They continue to argue. “I’ve got a mind of my own and a heart of my own and I will give my heart to whoever I want.” Bo arrives upset. Hope’s missing; she’s gone to the Brookeville clinic which was just hit by a tornado.

ESK124 – Steve, Kayla and Bo arrive back at the loft.  While Kayla changes into dry clothes, Bo and Steve argue.  Kayla overhears that Bo asked Steve to leave before their date.  Kayla tells Bo not to interfere in her life.  Steve gives Kayla a ride to the hospital to help out Dr. Horton and storm victims.  Roman finds Steve on the pier and they argue about a plan to stop Orpheus.

ESK125 – Roman comes to the loft to talk to Hope and Kayla about the plan to stop Orpheus.  Roman wants Kayla to convince Steve to help.  Kayla refuses, then relents.  She goes to see Steve to convince him into listening to Roman.  Steve refuses.  After returning to the loft and talking to Hope, Kayla decides to find Steve and talk to him again.

ESK126 – Steve agrees to help Roman in trapping Orpheus. Steve waits on the docks to meet Orpheus.  Orpheus doesn’t show. Kayla goes to Steve’s place. She is taken prisoner by Orpheus. Steve wrestles with Roman on the pier, trying to convince him Orpheus is not showing.

ESK127 – Orpheus brings Kayla to his yacht. Orpheus forces Kayla to call Steve. Roman comes to Steve’s place. Steve tells Roman that Orpheus has Kayla. Steve refuses to help with Roman’s plan. Roman leaves angry at ‘Dead Eye’.

ESK128 – Steve is worried about Kayla. “You Just Can’t Smile It Away” background music.  Roman comes to Steve’s and tells him where Kayla is being held. Orpheus calls Steve. Roman asks for Steve’s help. Steve refuses. Roman and Steve argue. Steve goes after Kayla.

ESK129 – Roman disguises himself as ‘Patch’. Steve swims towards Orpheus’ yacht. Kayla begs Orpheus not to kill Steve. Steve finds a crying Kayla on the yacht. Steve finds tattoo pics in safe. Roman is presumed dead. Steve and Kayla escape by jumping in the river.

ESK130 –  Steve and Kayla make it to shore. Shane rescues Roman. Steve and Kayla go to Shane’s. Steve tells Kayla not to tell anyone about the tattoo pictures they found. Kayla dotes over Roman when he returns. Roman thanks Steve. Roman asks Steve if he is holding back any information.

ESK131 – Roman leaves to look for Marlena. Steve and Kayla argue about not telling Roman, Shane, and Jillian about the tattoo pics. Steve tells Kayla he will sleep on it, and then decide on telling. “I’m a good tuker-inner.” Kayla kisses Steve on the cheek. While he sleeps on the couch, Kayla caresses a sleeping Steve’s hair. “What About Me” background music.

ESK132 – Kayla dreams of being held by Orpheus. She wakes in Steve’s arms. They argue about the tattoo pics. Once Hope and Roman arrive, Steve decides to give Roman the pics. They argue. Shane and Jillian arrive. Roman starts to remember.

ESK133 – Roman remembers the map is hidden behind the poster. Steve and Roman plan to go to Old Town, Stockholm. Steve takes Kayla and Hope back to the loft, and then says good-bye. Kayla daydreams of Steve returning with roses and kissing her. Hope and Kayla decide to go to Stockholm to warn Roman and Steve that Orpheus is in Stockholm.  First signs of Adrienne following Steve.

ESK134 – Steve discovers Kayla is on the plane. He is upset. “Where’s Hope, flying the plane?” Roman is stunned to find his sister and Hope on the plane. Hope tells Roman Orpheus is in Stockholm. Steve argues with Kayla, insisting she return to Salem immediately. After arriving in Stockholm, Roman tries to remember where he hid the bonds.

ESK135 – Hope calls Bo and plans to meet him. Hope disses Kayla. Steve returns. Kayla confronts him about how difficult it is to be back in Stockholm. “I like to feel things, baby.” Steve takes Kayla on an impromptu tour of Old Town. They meet up with Roman and Hope at a restaurant. Steve tells Kayla he’s staying close. Another sign of Adrienne.

ESK136 – Another sign of Adrienne at breakfast. Kayla asks Steve where he was all night. Kayla tells Steve how worried she was about him. He tells her he found out about Orpheus and Victor meeting. Though Kayla insists, Steve refuses to tell Roman about the meeting. He leaves without telling Kayla where the meeting will take place.

ESK137 – Steve follows Orpheus on the pier. Kayla follows Steve. Steve saves Kayla from being stabbed. After Steve and Kayla argue, Kayla finally leaves. Steve follows Orpheus into an alley and finds Bo instead. They fight. A badly beaten Steve returns to the hotel room. Kayla nurses his wounds. They argue over telling Roman about Bo being in the alley.

ESK138 – Roman attacks Steve for not telling him about the meeting. Steve leaves angry that he trusted Kayla. Kayla rails Roman for acting crazy. She runs after Steve and apologizes. Again, they argue. Steve hustles Kayla in a doorway, telling her they are being followed. Adrienne is the one following them. They end up in front of Helga’s. Helga runs out when she recognizes Steve.

ESK139 – Helga talks of old times. She tells of how Steve, Bo, and Britta had so much fun while staying there. Steve tells Helga that Britta is dead. Bo comes to Helga’s. Bo remembers old times. Kayla tells Steve she wants to know him better. He tells her the old Steve doesn’t exist any longer. She doesn’t believe him.

ESK140 – Kayla walks back to the hotel alone. Steve startles her when he joins her. “Just Say You Love Me” background music. Someone (Adrienne) tries to break into Steve’s room while he is sleeping. He jumps out of bed in nothing but his blue briefs. Kayla foils her attempts. Steve offers to take Kayla to breakfast. Roman storms in, saying he remembers where he buried the bonds.

ESK141 – Steve and Roman pretend to be street workers so they can go underground. Orpheus watches from a distance. Kayla confronts Hope about where she was the night before. Steve and Roman find the storm drain. A policeman stops them. Kayla and Hope distract him by pretending to be robbed. Steve and Roman make it underground. Orpheus follows. Kayla goes underground while Hope distracts Victor and Bo. Orpheus traps them in the water drain.

ESK142 – Hope stalls Victor. Hope pretends to faint. Bo goes down the drain. Roman finds the bonds. Orpheus sneaks up behind him. Kayla and Steve realize they are going to drown. Orpheus demands the bonds. Down in the tunnel, Bo hears gunshots. Somehow, the mystery figure of Adrienne shows up and shuts off the water. Orpheus knocks out Roman and tries to shoot Bo. Bo escapes. Orpheus leaves, meets Victor and lies about having the bonds. Bo takes Roman to safety.
